Aftermarket classifies all wheels as sustainable
RONAL GROUP is the first manufacturer to raise its entire aftermarket range to a sustainable level and endorse all products with its own sustainability label. This is made possible by the precise traceability of the CO2e footprint: from product development to material procurement and manufacturing, through to recycling.
Being carbon-neutral means exploiting the maximum use of recycled aluminum and low-carbon primary aluminum. Emissions that cannot be avoided are offset.
The aluminum alloy used in these rims consists of 40% low-carbon primary aluminum, with the remainder being 100% recycled aluminum.
Over two-thirds of the primary aluminum used in these rims is replaced with recycled material.
All rims are manufactured in the EU from primary aluminum sourced 100% from ASI members.
RONAL GROUP has stated its mission to be producing only CO2e-neutral wheels by 2050. We already keep resource conservation and emission reduction in mind in the procurement of materials and in production. The goal for all new developments is to offer the customer a wheel with at least two green leaves.
We source 100% of our primary aluminum from suppliers who are members of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). Much of this is already low-carbon aluminum produced with renewable energy, and a small portion is post-consumer secondary aluminum. Because both have a lower CO2e footprint than the average primary aluminum, this results in a significant CO2e reduction.
Aluminum waste from our rim production, such as alu chips, is also fully recycled. These unavoidable by-products are reprocessed separately and fed back into the cycle. This also helps to save resources and reduce CO2e.
In addition, at our sites in Germany, Spain and Switzerland, we obtain all of our electricity from renewable sources with a certificate of origin. In the future, the electricity needs throughout RONAL GROUP are to be met entirely by electricity from renewable sources.
Our wheels are packed in the RONLOG logistics center in Forst, which was successfully audited by TÜV Rheinland Energy in January 2023 and may now call itself a CO2e-neutral logistics center for Scope 1 and 2. Transport to the end customer is carried out by our suppliers on a CO2e-neutral basis, in boxes made of 100% recycled material.
